I thought I found my Humpty Dumpty.
I put his heart back together again.
But he was broken beyond repair.
Jagged and sharp;
Cutting me like shrapnel.
Beneath the fractured shell
There was no smooth coating.
Boiling on the surface;
Ready to explode.
But I was the lone casualty.
A casualty of love unrequited.
